VILLAINS PRESENTS KING FANTASTIC & 6BLOCC

KING FANTASTIC

King Fantastic http://thekingfantastic.com/
King Fantastic is a hip hop duo from Los Angeles, CA consisting of rapper Killer Reese One and DJ/Producer Troublemaker. Killer Reese One is also one half of LA underground rap duo Bleu Collar. Troublemaker is an internationally known DJ and producer who is also one half of the electronic group Rad Omen, and has remixed and worked with diverse acts such as Johnny Cash, Linkin Park, Matt and Kim featuring De La Soul, and Nina Simone.

In mid 2010, King Fantastic released their debut album — Finger Snaps and Gun Claps — a concise study in Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic, as interpreted by Killer Reese One and Troublemaker, to rave reviews.

“This is about as exciting as a debut can get.” – Buzzine

“The words don’t exist that can justifiably showcase the greatness that is King Fantastic.” – Revibe

“In a period where hip-hop has progressively feathered itself in with electronic, this producer/lyricist duo successfully sucker punches the other doldrums just sittin’ around stale.” – Indieshuffle

Rad Omen http://radomen.com/
Born out of the mouths of wolves and serpents.
Raised up by degenerates and whores in the gutters of your forgotten cities.
Among the spawn of your outcast, your rebuked, your lepers.
Breaking bread with gangsters, hustlers, real motherfuckers.
Scorned by your fearful leaders, and your simple masses.
Bearing no marking, no number, no names.
Only one sign, the Rad Omen.
For we are many, for we are many.

6Blocc

By 2007 R.A.W reinvents himself as 6BLOCC and is releasing his new sound on labels like Lo Dubs, N2O, Tribe Steppaz UK, Bootshake UK, La Dubstep Nostra and the popular white label War Recordings. In 2008, Portland bass music label, Lo Dubs calls upon the 6BLOCC to rock a mix cd featuring the Lo Dubs roster. A blend of hypnotic textures and warped basslines from the future cut the f*ck up using Cubase SX3, 6blocc says, “I decided to use Cubase to give it a different feel than the usual mix-cd and to add my own samples and edits.” The result is ANALOG CLASH, the first CD compilation / mix that features dubstep music from the Americas (north and south) as well as a remix from Vex’d. So far it has sold over 3000 units within months of the release date! When he isn’t on the road or in the air flying to various clubs and events throught out the U.S. 6BLOCC is managing his digi-label DIGITAL 6 (available on www.digital-tunes.netwww.chemical-records.co.ukwww.addictech.com) and knocking out dubstep remixes and originals.

The word on the streets is 6BLOCC is looking to put out some white labels of his hottest dubplates that always get the call…PUULLLL UUUPPPPP!!!! If you’re wondering what the name 6BLOCC means? “I got the name from a Masta Ace song here he says, “the bass I create is heard from six blocks”. BOOM!

The Nice Guys
http://www.facebook.com/TheNiceguysMusic?sk=wall

Sometimes, preconceived notions can be good; the comfort of expectations met is often a welcomed feeling. For the more adventurous among us, though, the best part of defined expectations and preconceived notions is having them broken, shattered even, in a good way. Enter: The Niceguys, a four-member Houston-based group with Southern roots and musical sensibilities that stretch far beyond th…e city’s limits. A self-contained unit, The Niceguys comprises MC (Yves ‘Easy Yves Saint’ Ozoude), DJ (Lucien ‘DJ Candlestick’ Barton) and producers (Todd ‘Christolph’ Louis and Winfrey ‘Free’ Oribhabor).

“I’m originally from Queens, New York, but I relocated to Houston when I was 18,” says Yves Saint. “I began attending the University of Houston in 2003, and spent the next two years moving back and forth between Texas and New York before I finally stayed in Houston for good.” Similarly, while Free, Candlestick, and Christolph now call Houston home — the four met at the University of Houston — each hails from different towns within the state, and each bring their own musical flair to the group.

“The first song that I memorized top to bottom was Nas’ ‘The Message,’” says Yves, who, along with the rest of The Niceguys, cite influence from such artists as J Dilla and MF DOOM in the same sentence as Houston legend Scarface and their hometown Screw music. “After hearing the way J Dilla and Pimp C flipped soul samples,” says Free, “it made me want to do it.”

Despite garnering their first national attention in late 2009, the origins of the group actually date two years prior, when Yves, DJ Candlestick, Christolph, and Free came together in 2007, releasing their inaugural project, a mixtape titled Niceguys Finish Last Vol 1, taking a little over two years to perfect their chemistry before releasing 2009’s The Green Room, a highly lauded seven-song free EP backed by 2DopeBoyz.com and Fatlace. An eclectic combination of soulful, boom bap-era beats backing Yves’ nimble rhymes, the EP — with tracks including the playful street wear giant-ode “Supreme Team” and “Not At All”, with its the horny bravado supporting Yves’ witty lyrics and bouncing flow — served as rock-solid precursor to the group’s forthcoming debut LP, The Show.

“Its a double entendre,” Yves says of the album’s title. “The Show as in we are entertainers and that’s what people expect and pay for, but also, it’s a metaphor for life; regardless of all the crap that goes on within the music and outside of the music, the show must go on.” With tracks like the organ-heavy “Mr. Perfect,” Yves Saint’s nimble, double-time flow on “It’s Like That,” and the vintage sound and feel of “On This Road,” The Show is both a logical extension of the sound heard on The Green Room but also a step up and clear progression for the young group. “The sound of the album is big,” says Christolph, smiling. “A large percentage of the songs are high-energy and fast paced, like you’re at a live show. It’s like being at a concert right next to those 10-foot speakers: loud and in your face. But in a good way, of course.”

Humble yet full of bravado and confidence — the group, also heavily into fashion with their own burgeoning Nice Look line, released their own line of panties for female fans — The Niceguys know they have a sound that defies what listeners might expect, and they also know that sound is going to pay dividends in the long run. “In five years I want to have at least three successful albums, tour as much as possible all over the world, and be an established and well respected hip-hop group,” says Free. Now that sounds nice.

DJ Bizz
DJ Bizz has been one of the top DJ in the Houston scene since the early 90s and has played at most of the major night clubs & raves around the United States. His experience and unfounded dedication to always spin what makes the crowd move on the dance floor makes him one of the city’s most sought after mixologist. You can always find DJ Bizz mixing in a never before heard retro hit or laying down an unforgettable set that is sure to keep the energy high and drinks flowing.

Badbwoy BMC
For more than a decade Badbwoy BMC has helped define Bass Music Culture in Houston, Texas. First, as one of Texas’ most sought after jungle/drum ‘n bass/ dubstep DJs, and most recently as a Producer. BMC’s production talent led quickly to numerous digital, vinyl, and CD releases on respected underground labels such as: Dirty Circuit; Shift; Stupid Fly; Betamorph and his own label Eye-Ten Recordings. His track titled “The Attack” was also featured on the video game Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding 2 for Xbox console.

I had a dream…

So last night I had this dream that Drum and Bass and Dub Step were all joined together in a harmonious effort to fight a long ongoing battle of who was bigger. Granted some of us “grew up” and out to a new following, better yet the elders took the high road and moved over to the side to let the children wreck shop and take over for a bit. The elders had their fun in the sun. They saw that an uprising of a generation had way more momentum and the elders couldn’t keep up. Some chose to stand behind and lead the youth into the new era, others chose to take the elders and move them to a better location for the land was getting trampled on and the flowers and fruit were being damaged. Throughout the years the families battled for the land and rights to passage. Hearts were broken and friends were lost over chosen sides and bigger weapons.

There was once a time where all “Villains” were united and swarms of people were brought together in order to form a more perfect union.

Well this “Union” is what i envisioned last night.

This was a Gathering of all the Masters of Ceremony across the land in order to build a battle that would transcend all generic boundary.  There isn’t anything stopping this from happening other than for the Giants to set aside their weapons and fight a fair battle using love and light. The sound will then transform what was once a moment of hate and resentment, into a vibration of love and unity. To transcend space and time through a mending of old patterns seems clear in the end.

in other words: It’s time we looked past the bullshit guys. Lets put your guns down and bring it in for a big group hug.

FOR ONE NIGHT NIGHT ONLY… (ok ok maybe 2 or 3)

I’m calling out for a massive balance of our inner drum and bass Chakras… Together Protoculture/ Gritsy/ Texas Dub/ Purrin Lion SoundFlex Crew/ Frenzi/ Lamborghini/ Freshmore/ Brio Kids and anyone else that may have been in the running since last we checked (don’t think i forgot about you Brio Kids). To set all these issues aside and blow the kids away with what you all know best. The Music. You guys know who you are, and you know what to do about it.

We now have access to an amazing new venue that is leaps and bounds above in sound quality/ location/ and history.

I personally want to see our new club Villains bring Gritsy/Texas Dub/Frenzi in to unite and join forces for what will send all these haters into a new realm of thinking. Granted we are in 2012 now guys and this is no time to hold onto past grudges, it’s a new awakening within our hearts and minds. The planets are beginning to align so Lets push aside the drama in the past and come together for what really matters… Our Children. There’s no room in 2012 for a selfish attitude, There’s enough to go around for everyone. I’m calling a family Reunion ! We are all family here.

So in the Meantime i’m going to take all you wounded victims to the Hospital.

Hospitality – a tribute mix to hospital records – 2006

It’s time to “Flip the Script” on em gentlemen. — That sounds like a great name for the event to come…

FLIPING THE SCRIPT

A joint Collaboration with the leaders of Bass.

Frenzi – Gritsy – Texas Dub

Chus & Ceballos are Thankful to be here in Houston with you.

Well i can’t tell you a better way to lose all that fat you just put on but to go out to South Beach and dance with the rest of us!

We love everything that the Praia kids have put together for us, and loving everyone they bring into town because we like that serious dance music.. It’s true some of us grow up, and others stay in that same stagnant circle of rave. We love that about Texas though. It’s just a matter of finding your niche and sticking with the true “heads.” Granted we’re all true in our spirit of music but some just choose to dance, and some choose to stand on the side line and watch or get in a puddle, or go to the bathroom all night long. If you feel the music in your stomach like that big turkey dinner  you just had than get your ass out and dance with us! We Love You All and are Very Thankful for ALL that each and everyone of you do for us!

For those of you that don’t know about Chus & Ceballos it’s time you go to find out.

This Thursday, Thanksgiving night!

The biggest event to close out 2011: For the first time together in Houston. Chus + Ceballos

Get your tickets here: http://fla.vor.us/chusceballos
East End Boys Productions LLC, the guys that bring you Praia Urbana, are excited to bring you another night of great House Music! The venue we have chosen for this event is perfect because it has the best lights and sound in the city, a huge dancefloor, and a monster CO2 system. Join us as we welcome our friends Chus + Ceballos to Houston for the first time together! And celebrate the holiday as one big House Music family!

18 & up welcome.

RMX

For all of you Radiohead lovers & collectors out there.

Don’t you always feel a sense of nostalgia whenever you listen/hear Radiohead? Whether it’s a song or album, somehow it has always been connected to a part/chapter of your life that is still relevant/irrelevant… Either way, I always remembered.  Kom remembers that Radiohead show we went to a couple years ago at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Right around the time our baby HMH was being born. Oh memories.

Anyways:

Radiohead will celebrate the release of their remix album ‘TKOL RMX 1234567’ by streaming a live DJ set via The Boiler Room next Tuesday 11th October, from around 8pm UK time.

Thom will be DJing, along with Jamie XX, Caribou, Lone and Illum Sphere, who all feature on the album.

You can watch Radiohead’s takeover of The Boiler Room live via www.boilerroom.tv or www.radiohead.com/deadairspace.

SHHHHHHHHH….. Nothing to hear here…

The best part about Dance Club is you’re not supposed to know about Dance Club.

From a Crew that holds rank in Underground Events and long lasting noise complaints with the City of Houston.

Tonight you find out just how “Contained” things can get…

For those of you that have never participated in a “Silent Disco” we suggest you get ready to be lost in the quite hidden adventure that will surround this intimate Venue and Futuristic Family. The underground of SF/UK and Playa Dust all know what this is about. It’s not every day that you get a chance to be a part of something so special and so private. The hidden location and missing wall of speakers might throw you off at first but never fear, the music is here… This isn’t one of those parties you’re going to be able to roll your windows down while driving lost to listen form where the sound is traveling from. (old club talk) Tonight it Looks like you’re just going to have to buy the ticket and take the ride of your life. Trust in the hidden force that has brought you so much as a whole to lead you into the magical moment of the year. From a week full of Skrillex’s and 12 Planets turning your insides out and causing mass hysteria, this will start a rLOVEolution of another color. For the first time in Houston’s History you will witness the most silent Disco the “Don of Sound” has ever put on you. So buy the ticket, strap on the headset, and shhhhhhhhhh…

We love love the Praia Family and love supporting Last Concert. With Lee Burridge coming to town you would be a fool to miss out on such a moment in time. Family from SF is in town just to witness what’s about to take place here, and she brought the weather with her. With the sand on your feet and the woman at their peak you would be a fool to miss out. The weather is just right for an amazing day in the sun. Bring your shades because the Future is bright with these classic House heads. If you have a job, quit it. if you have friends who hate, then ditch them. Do it for yourself because you deserve this moment of serenity. So glad to have family in town for this show that undertands and respects good music. Love & Light !

Time to create some more magical moments out in the sand and our on our MASSIVE Urbana street stage. The world traveling DJs we’ve booked will definitely give this show the international flavor Praia Urbana is known for…

Praia Urbana begins at 2pm and goes until 11pm. The talent line-up consists of some of Texas’ finest local DJs alongside international DJs and producers. The Last Concert Cafe, has a full service restaurant and large patio complete with sand and palm trees, creating an outdoor oasis perfect for a great all day outdoor event. There will also be plenty of frozen drinks and food being served.

Remember, the best time to be at the party is during the day, so be sure to get there early to enjoy all the DJs and all the fun in the sun.
Once again this will be a Block Party with the improved Urbana street stage.

This time we are bringing the Biggest International talent we have booked to date!

Featuring:
LEE BURRIDGE – UNITED KINGDOM

Lee was spotted by a club owner from Hong Kong in 1990 and left the UK early in 1991 to work as a DJ there. During the first six months it became apparent that Hong Kong’s underground dance music scene was non existent and Lee spent the next few years changing all that. Small Sunday night parties for 250 people grew quickly into a thriving nightclub scene which constantly saw him playing marathon sets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Overseas DJ’s and club nights started to grace the shores of Hong Kong as it became one of those happening destinations on the global DJ circuit. This continued throughout the 90′s. Lee’s residency at the now defunkt Big Apple and Neptunes nightclubs became so popular he DJ’d six night a week for three years until eventually deciding to leave in 97. The decision was made after playing with Sasha and Craig Richards on numerous occasions and having them offer to launch his career in the UK.
