Electric Touch, Riff Tiffs, Jud Johnson Band

Latest “Melodramatic Pop” band from Austin, Texas, Electric Touch, will be releasing their debut album on Saturday at Warehouse Live. The show will be a kick-off performance before the band heads off for an east to west coast tour. Although the band is relatively new, their popularity increases daily. You can check them out at the Austin City Limits Music Festival or buy the debut album (in stores now!). The music is a solid mix of pure rock and 80’s pop. It’s something so catchy, you can’t help yourself from grooving.

The local opening acts are fun, so come early!

Riff Tiffs, a band made in Texas by Texans, will be performing a sweet, ambient yet soul rockin’ set made from the purest of sound. Enchanting harmonics, calming tones, and eccentric hair will all be included.

The first band, Jud Johnson Band, is a jam rock jazz band from Houston, Texas labeled by CBS as “the next Dave Mathews Band”…maybe you’ll be into it, come anyway.

About Laidback Luke

Holland’s beloved house music-loving homeboy, Laidback Luke is on an international mission to rock clubs, win hearts and top charts. A producer and DJ with immense talent, tonnes of spirit and a steely determination to succeed, he has been on a worldwide search for the ultimate in dancefloor energy since the mid-1990s. “Music is an amazing tool that can evoke powerful memories and emotions,” says Luke with a smile. “And I will not rest until I’ve given my best: I want to share as much music as possible with as many people as possible.” And in 2006, with an incredibly impressive discography of 100+ recordings and a DJ diary that takes him from his studio near Amsterdam to clubs all over the world, including Pacha and Space (Ibiza), Ministry of Sound (London), Industria (Antwerp) and Opium (Miami), it would seem that Luke is well on the way to achieving his goals.

In 2006 Luke has been bang into the hot sounds of the ‘Swedish house mafia’. Discovering that he shared many influences with Steve Angello, the two hit-makers first met on the www.laidbackluke.com forum in 2003, trading MP3s online before finally meeting face to face at the Miami WMC in 2004. They have remained buddies ever since and Luke’s remix of Sexy F**k for Steve’s label Size and his cool collaboration with Steve titled Otherwize Then (unleashed on Sebastian Ingrosso’s label Refune) have been hammered by top jocks around the world. Indeed, Luke is on fire right now and is preparing for further collaborations when he returns to Stockholm at the end of the year. So watch out for even bigger sparks in 2007 as the Flying Dutchman continues his international house music revolution!

“You don’t want to talk
So baby shut up
And let me drink the wine from your fur tea cup
Velcro candy, sticky sweet
Make my tattoos melt in the heat
Well, I ain’t no veggie
Like my flesh on the bone
Alive and lickin’ on your ice cream cone”

This shits FLOSSY

Flosstradamus just put out a new mixtape for the Mad Decent Podcast. I jammed pretty loud to this mix, it’s a real WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. This is what Flossy-D had to say about this mixtape himself:

We had to choose from a nice handful of songs. Also the original approach for this mix tape was “ghetto house” also know as juke, ghetto tech, jit, among others. So we tried to merge a few of our favorite (I’m sure you have a handful too) Dancemania “Ghetto House” tunes with some new & exclusive Ghetto House tunes of today. I hope you like the lil mix we whipped up. The track listing is below. Let us know your favorite Ghetto House jams and Dancemania joints.

Thanks dudes, Have Fun, Keep Smiling, And only you can prevent forest fires.

OLD HOUSE MIX FOR DOWNLOAD!!!

My House.

“Back in the Fall of 1999, Mel turned on his CASSETTE DECK & pressed record to make a House mix. This is a recording of House records that he collected and wanted to mix. This was done on 2 busted Technics 1200’s and a Rane TTM54 mixer.”
