Quite often Cactus Records hosts a free show with fun music and festivities. On Saturday September 6, 2008 Cactus will be having one of the freefun shows, only this time it’s extra free and extra fun. Mia Kat Empire, Houston Press’ best local indie label, will be showcasing the wonderful sounds of the Mia Kat Empire signed artists. THE MAYAPPLES, BUXTON, THE GOODS, HOLLYWOOD BLACK, GRETCHEN SCHMALTZ, CONVAIR, and WOOD & FELT will all be preforming. Music from 1-5pm. Refreshments provided by St. Arnolds Brewery. FREE FREE FREE. All are welcome!…and remember “indie is an ethic, not a genre”.
 
If you would like to hear the bands before Saturday, tune into KTRU 91.7 on September 2nd (8-10pm). BUXTON, HOLLYWOOD BLACK, AND GRETCHEN SCHMALTZ will be featured and played…
