I thought I would give my input about SXSW 2009 as well. Here’s a taste of what you missed if you weren’t there. This was the last night. Dj Klever:
CAGE FIGHTS
is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of striking and grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds to compete. The term may also be used, less correctly, to describe hybrid martial arts styles.
I think we should start our own cage fighting matches in the HMH quarters, that would be sweet. Do whatever you want in the fight except no weapons of any sort. We’ll have an HMH meeting soon and discuss. Get each other pumped, because watching these cage fighting videos has really got me pumped up. Which reminds me I gotta go to the gym soon. Run my ass off. Anyways there will be two cage fighting events coming up soon, this Saturday at the Arena Theater and next Friday at the Verizon Theater. Should be a grand ole party. Get a table, drinks, make some bets. You down?

Post War Years-
this is what last FM had to say, there’s no wiki or much info on their myspace.
The Post War Years are an up and coming band from Royal Leamington Spa, who (according to their Myspace page) are Latin/Hard House/Jazz but they have an Alternative/Indie edge about them too.
Post War Years consist of Si Critten, Henry Riggs, Tom and Fred. They are all very nice chaps and in some cases close personal friends. They all enjoy a variety of musical styles and it shows, because they have a diverse range of songs evincing Prince to Battles as influences, unified thematically by all being jaw-droppingly great.
These songs i’m posting up i have no idea how old they are. I would suggest getting what you can though.

OK so after Nights of ridiculous Dance music, from Diplo to A track, Mehdi blowing my mind, we had Late of the Peir with the horrible sound system of the Fader Fort. then Cancelling on us at ACE’s Lounge. By the way I’m beginning to think they are some pre madonna douche bags. But great music none the less. We had Switch fucking LEAVE the MAD DECENT party! in the middle of Diplo playing his DIPLO it’s all DIPLO Set. that shit pissed me off. So we mad at mad decent right now.
So those two let downs were not a good ending at all, But over all it was an amazing SXSW this year.
This new band my friend out of the UK sent me before i left to SXSW, POST WAR YEARS were amazing live!
Thanks Katie Dane for pushing that at me. Together Switch, and Diplo as Major Lazar tore it up, not sure what switch was actually doing up there during that set but none the less shit was good.
