I turned my ipod on shuffle today and Faith Evans came on. I love shuffle. The songs you love and forget about always come back on…

Faith Evans was one of the many R&B artists playing as the background music of my ‘95 childhood. It was unheard of to have a female R&B singer be her own writer then. She sang back up for Mary J and wrote Usher’s entire first album, but then she was only known to be Biggie’s wife…. until she wrote and recorded her first self titled album was she known as an artist on her own. She sang from her heart and soul and everyone felt her pain. I loved her then and I love her still.
