BIG WEEKEND

hype

block

It’s going to be a big weekend for HMH and DIRB this weekend. So be sure to come by and check us out. I will be spinning the ghostland after party at The Backroom alongside with G-Wizz. Then after that roll over to Block 21 to see G-wizz and I rock the crowd. It’s going to be an amazing night. Don’t miss it!

Back in TX action

San FranDisco was bomb dot com and I was sad to leave, but I’ll be back there for sure! I’m back in Hellston and ready to jump back into the festivities. It already started last night when we got off the plane and headed straight to Treasure Fingers. It’s nice to come back to lovely faces and see everyone shakin it on the dance floor. Will update more on Treasure Fingers later. Starting the weekend off tonight, there’s a lot going on. You all remember the post about Joystix and the all you can play vintage video games? Well tonight’s the night, 1820 bar and Joystix will open their doors to tonight for all night game playing. $15 gets you in and you can go pinball crazy. Also there’s a Lonestar sponsored art party at A-Front, that’ll be starting at 6:30 pm and ending at 10:30 pm. Perfect timing for some Joystix action.

Tomorrow (Saturday) the annual iFest is happening on 16 acres of the downtown area 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm! WHOOAAAAA! If anyone is unfamiliar with the iFest, it’s the International Festival, an event that shows you culture from all over world, including: music, foods, fine arts and crafts!!! Exciting and a fun time I tell you. So definitely a day time event you should attend. For information on what you can find there, admission, and set list of performing talents go HERE. After the iFest is over, head over to the Do It Anyway You Wanna party on 2301 Commerce St. (above the Booker T’s gym) Jep will be spinning along with G-Wizz. Or you can go to Block 21 for the DIRB Block Party. Your choice or do both! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMA BABE!! ;)

Last but not least, I have a little bit of new music for you all. Now we’re all familiar with Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend… Well Rostam Batmanglij of VW has joined forces with Wes Miles of RRR and made Discovery. I can only find two songs for now, but I’m diggin it since I’m a fan of the two bands above. Orange Shirt sounds more of Ra Ra Riot but I get a little R&B feel through the vocals, and Osaka Loop Line sounds more like an equal amount between the two artists.
